Discount spay/neuter vouchers available at local vet clinics, 2016 dog tags

Here are a few updates for all dog owners in Wellington.

City of Wellington dog tags are now available for 2016. Tags are three dollars for spayed or neutered dogs and six dollars for unaltered dogs.

If you'd like to avoid a penalty, you need to get your tags before March 1. The find for not purchasing a dog tag is about $106. Also, if your dog is picked up for running-at-large without a tag, the dog can be put down without identifying the owner.

You can pick up your tags at City Hall (317 S Washington) or at local veterinarian offices.

Speaking of local veterinarian offices, in honor of National Spay and Neuter Day, three local vet offices will be handing out $30 spay and neuter assistance vouchers on Tuesday, Feb 23. They will be available on a first-come first-serve basis.

These vouchers will be available at the Wellington Animal Clinic, the Arrowhead Animal Clinic in Wellington and the Conway Springs Veterinarian Clinic.
