Spooktacular Fun Run at WHS

Mrs. Lawless’ 8th hr Career and Community Connections class at WHS hosted a “Spooktacular Fun Run” Saturday morning out at WHS.

The 5K run started at 10AM in the parking lot of WHS and the course went over by the Middle School on “A” street and then back through Sellers Park before returning to the WHS parking lot.

Entries needed for 2017 Kansas Wheat Festival button contest

WELLINGTON, Kan - Artists are asked to create a button design to reflect the 117th Kansas Wheat Festival. The 117th Kansas Wheat Festival is July 12 – 16, 2017 in Wellington, KS. Design must reflect the Chisholm Trail theme. Artists are encouraged to also submit a complimentary t-shirt design. The t-shirt design can be the same as the button and tshirt designs should have no more than four colors.

Artists must be 16 years of age, and must reside in Kansas. There is no fee to enter, but designs must be received by *5 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016* to be eligible.

Busy weekend for Knights of Columbus

On the latest Show and Shel, members from the local Knights of Columbus organization were in studio to talk about three fundraisers they have going on during homecoming weekend in Wellington.

They will be at the entrances to the football game at Sellers Park on Friday night handing out Tootsie Rolls for donations. On Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. At the Knights of Columbus Hall they are having a coat giveaway. Then on Sunday at the Hall is the Knights breakfast.
