Pre-Holiday action wraps up this coming week...

The 15TH ANNUAL KINGMAN EAGLE CLASSIC BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT wrapped up on Saturday with the Wellington teams playing earlier in the day than probably most people thought originally they would. Losses on Day #2 (Friday) eliminated the chances for both the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys to make any Championship Game appearances this go-round. The boys have won this tournament "3" times and the girls "4" times since it's beginnings shortly after the turn of the century. Both will have to wait another year to add to the column of successes. Here are the results we have from Saturday - the Varsity Girls defeated SUNRISE ACADEMY for 5th place. Here are the ALL TOURNAMENT TEAMS and Wellington Results from Saturday and Friday:

The VARSITY & JR. VARSITY WRESTLING squads hosted their annual Invitational on Saturday as well with over a dozen teams including most of the Wichita HS's on hand to compete at WHS. In the end Wellington had "7" wrestlers medal, "4" Varsity and "3" Jr. Varsity:

On the Varsity Side: 106 lbs. Brennan Cantrell (5th), 195 lbs. Ian Groom (4th), 220 lbs. Gabe Smith (4th), 285 lbs. Tyler Jimenez (6th). On the Jr. Varsity Side: 113 lbs. Austin Harriger (4th), 126 Quinton Redford (3rd), 152 Kanden Young (1st).
