Mitchell Named MVP @ Kansas-Missouri "STATE-LINE SHOWDOWN"!

Local WHS Senior Grace Mitchell by invite, took part over the weekend in this year's "STATELINE SHOWDOWN" basketball showcase in Kansas City, Missouri. The 2016 3rd Annual Stateline Showdown is a showcase of the Top 8th grade boys & girls and top high school senior boys and girls in the area. The "Stateline Showdown" returned for its 3rd year at Rockhurst University this past weekend. A Selection committee of prominent high school coaches, prep scouts and media from Missouri & Kansas chose the top 8th grade and graduating high school basketball players from a pool of over 10,000 students. The event on Saturday consisted of the "4" games annually featured:

Grace made her mark big time, She scored 15 pts., had 11 rebounds and 8 blocks and was named game MVP in which the Kansas girls won 105-96! Way to go GRACE - that is awesome!

Grace and her Lady Crusader teammates are coming off a 24-1 record-setting season at Wellington High School and a 3rd place finish at the State 4A Girls Div I Basketball Tournament in Salina. After graduation, as you saw noted, Grace will be heading north to Nebraska to be a Lady Cornhusker! Great job Grace - way to represent!!
