Regional KCLB baseball action got underway Friday at Hibbs-Hooten. The double-elimination tournament continued Saturday with loser and winner bracket play on slate throughout the day.

Complete results not available - The #1 seed HEAT fell to the #2 seed CANNONS Saturday evening in Day 2 action at the KCLB Regional. Final score was CANNONS 10 HEAT 4. The Cannons jumped out on the HEAT, leading 6-0 after 2. In the 3rd, Alex Lyon had an RBI single, scoring Dubler. The HEAT would add a couple more runs, 1 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th on an Itchy Burts hit that scored Alex Koch. Score now CANNONS 6 HEAT 4. The HEAT held on until the 9th, the CANNONS put up 4 more to extend their lead to 6. The HEAT couldn't answer - game over. FINAL HEAT 4 CANNONS 10
The HEAT will have to battle back from the loser's bracket. Today (Sunday), @ 4PM, the HEAT will go up against the McPherson Pipeliners. That winner will advance to the CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL @ 7PM vs the CANNONS. The Cannons, with no losses, will have to be beat twice to lose the Tournament Championship. GOOD LUCK HEAT!! (In the event the CANNONS lose in the 7PM contest Sunday, the CHAMPIONSHIP will be played Monday evening @ 7PM.)
The HEAT'S recent 1st place league finish vaulted them past the POOL PLAY round (July 27th) at the upcoming NBC BASEBALL WORLD SERIES @ Lawrence Dumont Stadium in Wichita. Championship Round action will commence on Aug. 3rd.!
