Convicted Sex Offender Arrested Locally
Wellington Police have arrested convicted sex offender Dustin S. Stalder, age 34, and he has been booked into the Sumner County Jail.
Stalder, who was listed as homeless in the daily police bulletin, was arrested in Wellington Tuesday at 6:22 p.m., on a Kansas Department of Corrections Warrant for Parole Violations.
He has been sought after following a 10-year-old youth of Arkansas City to his home on Oct. 4, 2017 and asked the youth if he could come inside. The youth reportedly shut the door and then snapped a photo of Stadler, who was then identified by family.
Stadler’s previous attempted sexual assault occurred in 2007 in Falls City, Nebraska. Stalder has a prior conviction of forgery in Sumner County.
